Welcome...
Welcome to Yorkshire Children’s Physiotherapy, a specialist branch of PEAK Physiotherapy Limited, which is dedicated to providing physiotherapy assessment, screening, and rehabilitation for babies, children, and young adults across the Yorkshire region.
Your child is very precious to you, and therefore you need to be sure that should they need physiotherapy management, they are seen by a Specialist Physiotherapist who has experience in dealing with paediatric conditions. Children learn and develop by exploring their environment, so problems with movement and limited environmental stimulus can adversely affect their physical and emotional wellbeing.
At Yorkshire Children’s Physiotherapy, our specialist team of Paediatric Physiotherapists can assess your child and offer a comprehensive therapy plan based upon their difficulties, their needs, and your requirements as a parent, to support them throughout their development. We offer an initial assessment session at whichever location may be most convenient for you and your child, followed by detailed feedback to parents and carers. We can then work together within individual, tailor-made therapy sessions, designed to meet your child’s needs, if physiotherapy is considered appropriate for them.
Physiotherapy rehabilitation focuses on the development of your child through facilitated play, hands-on techniques, and the encouragement of normal movement patterns and sensory responses. We use a wide range of paediatric treatment approaches and equipment to make learning and rehabilitation a very positive and enjoyable experience. We also work towards developing confidence and boosting your child’s self-esteem, working towards total rehabilitation.
During the initial assessment, we will formulate a management programme in conjunction with yourselves and any other health professionals as appropriate, or we can simply offer advice and reassurance if this is all that is required. All therapy sessions include a home programme and detailed guidelines, so that you can continue to work at home with your child. We can also advise on any aids, orthotic footwear (including insoles and splints) etc., that may assist your child with normal functional movement and activities.
If you are worried about your child’s development and you are unsure whether physiotherapy is appropriate for them, we offer a free telephone screening service where we can discuss your child’s condition and needs without you having to commit to attending a physiotherapy session.
